QuickBooks, Tally and Odoo Data Recovery in Kuwait

InspectionReportConfidentiality

A QuickBooks company file that will not open, Tally data gone after a machine failed, or an Odoo server down with its database and attachments? Each of these stores its data differently, so each case is handled with the tools that belong to that program rather than a generic recovery tool.

Cases business owners bring us

  • A QBW file that will not open or reports corruption
  • A prompt to repair the company file on every launch
  • Tally data missing after the folder was moved to a new machine
  • A Tally company that opens empty or with a year missing
  • An Odoo server down and the database will not open
  • Odoo attachments missing although the database is intact
  • The machine holding the program failed, or its disk is damaged
  • A backup that exists but will not restore

Each program stores data its own way

QuickBooks keeps the company accounts in a single QBW file, with a transaction log beside it holding entries not yet merged in. Anyone who takes the first file and ignores the second can hand back a set of books that is quietly incomplete, so we examine both and merge back what can be merged.

Tally is different: data lives in a folder per company in the program's own file formats, and damage to one file there makes the company open empty even though the rest is intact. The work is on the whole folder, not on a single file.

Odoo is two problems at once: a PostgreSQL database on one side and a filestore directory on the other. Recovering the database alone gives you a working system of invoices with no documents attached, so we recover both, reconnect them, and check that attachments open before handover.

What we work with

  • QuickBooks Desktop editions and QBW, QBB and TLG files
  • Tally ERP 9 and Tally Prime company data folders
  • Odoo with its PostgreSQL database and filestore
  • Other local accounting programs with their own formats
  • Corrupt or incomplete backup files
  • Data on a damaged disk or a machine that will not boot

How the work runs

  1. 1

    Inspection

Identify the program, its version and where its data lives, and whether the fault is the file or the media.

  2. 2

    Report

A written report on what can be recovered, how long and at what cost, before any work.

  3. 3

    Extraction

Pull the program files and data off the media and work on a copy.

  4. 4

    Repair

Treat the damage in the company file, the data folder, or the Odoo database and filestore.

  5. 5

    Online and reconciled

Install the program, open the company and review balances and invoices before handover.

Common mistakes that double the damage

  • Running the built-in repair tool against the original company file
  • Copying a Tally data folder while the program is running
  • Restoring an old backup over the current data
  • Recovering an Odoo database without its filestore
  • Reinstalling the program over itself before recovery
  • Continuing to post entries into a damaged file

Copy the original file or folder and keep it untouched before any repair is attempted.

Frequently asked questions

My QuickBooks file will not open. Can the accounts be recovered?

Usually yes. We examine the company file and its transaction log together, treat the damage on a copy, then open the company and review the balances with you before handover.

A Tally company opens empty. Why?

Usually damage to one file in the company folder rather than to all of the data. We work at folder level and recover what we can of each financial year.

Do you recover Odoo databases?

Yes, the PostgreSQL database and the filestore together. Recovering the database alone leaves invoices with no documents, so we reconnect both and test that attachments open.

We have no backup at all. Is that hopeless?

No. The work starts from the storage media itself. A backup shortens the job but is not a precondition.

We have a backup but it will not restore. What now?

Damaged backup files can often be examined and their content extracted, sometimes piece by piece.

Do our books stay confidential?

Yes. Access is limited to the responsible engineer, a confidentiality undertaking can be signed when the job is received, and our working copies are erased after handover.
