A company server that stopped, a RAID array that dropped, or a NAS showing empty volumes? We treat the array as one unit: image every disk separately, work out the disk order and stripe size mathematically, then extract files and databases from the rebuilt array.

Switch the server off and do not let anything rebuild the array before it is examined.
What loses company data is rarely the disk failure itself; it is the rebuild attempted straight after it. A rebuild writes to the healthy disks, so if the controller picks the wrong order, good data becomes damaged data with no way back.
We start from the opposite end. The disks come out, numbered exactly as they sat in the bays, and each one is imaged sector by sector. The disk order, stripe size and parity rotation are then derived from the content of those images, and the array is rebuilt virtually, without touching the original disks.
And because we are software engineers as much as hardware technicians, we do not stop at files: we recover the accounting or inventory database, reattach it to its program, test it, and hand it over working.
Record bay order, the state of every disk and of the controller before anything is removed.
A full sector-by-sector image of every disk, and work continues on the images only.
Derive order, stripe size and parity rotation, and assemble the array virtually.
Pull files, databases and virtual machines out of the rebuilt array.
Repair the database, reattach it to its program and test it before handover.
Switch the server off and leave the disks as they are; that alone preserves most of the chance of recovery.

Not necessarily. One of them has often left the array long before the other, and its content can complete the picture. What matters is not attempting a rebuild before inspection.
Yes: Synology, QNAP and others, including Linux-based volume formats. We work on the disks outside the enclosure.
Yes. VMware and Hyper-V files can be extracted from the rebuilt array, and their inner content pulled out where that is needed.
Yes, and it is a core part of what we do. We work with SQL Server, MySQL and Access, repair the logical damage after taking a safe copy, then reattach the program and test it.
Inspection and imaging depend on the number and size of disks, usually two to four days before a final verdict. You receive the report before any work begins.
Yes. Access is limited to the responsible engineer, a confidentiality undertaking can be signed when the job is received, and our working copies are erased once you have your recovered data.
